Transfer Chrysler Warranty across border on used caravan

by Linda
(Canada)

Question: I am interested in purchasing a used caravan in the USA and would like to know if the warranty is transferable into Canada.

Answer: Hi Linda. Yes, the warranty should still be good in Canada. If for instance, you lived in the US and were traveling in Canada, then the warranty would be honored and the same should hold true for a purchase in the USA while you reside in Canada.

All they will do is convert the miles on the odometer to kilometres when figuring the remaining miles.

The warranty coverage that they offer does differ from Canada to the USA and I'm not sure if they would honor the USA warranty or the Canada one though.

In Canada, the 2008, 2009 and 2010 came with a 36 month / 60,000 KM basic coverage and a 60 month / 100,000 KM transferable power train warranty.

In the USA the 2007, 2008 and 2009 were 36 month / 36,000 basic and a lifetime (non-transferable) power train warranty. I believe the power train reverted back to the 36 month / 36,000 mile once the second owner purchased the vehicle.
