Drive Time Not So Bad

If you are going to buy a car from Drive Time chances are your credit is shot. At least they are willing to take a chance on you. It is up to you to really choose carefully in what car you buy and how much you put down.

My story begins by pretty much being laughed at by two dealerships in which I applied at with a credit score of 590.

I used my piece of junk Volvo for a trade in and Drive Time gave me $1500 for it. They tried to get cash down, but I held out and only gave $50 (THEY WANTED $200). I drove off in a nice Dodge Caliber, it broke down 15 min later...

I did take it for a test drive and it ran great. I drove it back and demanded to talk to the GM. I was surprised how nice they where. They offered me a rental car for free and they where going to fix the car for free.

I declined and said the car had bad karma at this point. He then offered to cancel the contact and waive the $75.00 fee.

I then got a 2008 Nissan Versa with 70,000 miles for $390 a month for 3 years. I feel pretty good about Drive Time, I have a great little car and a good payment plan.
